A fountain pen, ink dissolving mid line. A love poem by Joshua Cintron on when words aren’t enough to say I love you.

Some poems come easy. This one didn’t. I sat with pen in hand, searching for words big enough to hold what I felt, and every attempt came up short. In the end, the truest words were the simplest ones, three words that said what pages of eloquence never could.

I search for eloquent words to describe my
feelings for you.
Futile are the attempts because only my heart
will ever know.
You complete me.
You make whole what was empty, the inner
most parts of me.
You make me feel wanted, desired, appreciated.
I guess
whatever eloquence I searched for is
plainly explained by this, I love you.
