Rocky Pacific reef and tide pools at low tide, sea meeting the horizon. Featured image for Where Water Meets Sky on Sayspire.

A poem by Joshua Cintron about standing where the sea meets the sky. A quiet meditation on low tide, salt air, and the vast Pacific calm that makes a person feel small and held at once.

I eased my feet
into wet, slippery crevices
on the coral reef,
revealed by the Pacific Ocean’s
noon low tide.

Saltwater hands at my waist,
my vision cast
toward the endless plain
where water and sky meet.

I breathed in the sea,
felt Mother Nature’s touch
whisper across my skin.

For another moment of stillness found by simply looking outward, read At Week’s End.
