Not everyone claps for you. Over the years I’ve watched people who should be happy for us go quiet instead, or say things that weren’t quite compliments. I wrote this for those moments — the ones that used to sting a little before I learned to let them go. What we have was never up for a vote.

At times, I feel as though our love is challenged
by friends, colleagues,
family and those jealous of what we have. I see
it. They tell us.
Let us continue this ride of love
we share together, for as long
as it should last – beyond time and space that
has no end.
